Truly stunning and delicate sculpture handmade by Sofia Roe.
 
After the first (bisque) firing, three solid coats of Mayco Black Adventurine glaze were applied to two separate coils. Black Adventurine is a matte, mottled black and metallic dark copper glaze. Splashes of Mayco Copper Adventurine were also added to produce a glossy, metallic dark brown and copper glaze finish.
 
This piece was somewhat of a technical challenge. Once the glazes were fully dry, the smaller coil was carefully twisted into the larger coil. Both coils fused together in the second firing to produce the piece as seen in the photographs.
