Three solid coats of Mayco Obsidian glaze were applied to the surface of this bowl. Obsidian is an opaque black base glaze with variegated blue, green, and brown crystals that melt during the firing process to create the beautiful finish seen in the photos.
The reverse side of this bowl was painted with three coats of Galaxy Black Fairy Dust which produces a stunning sparkly effect.
This piece has been stamped with SR (Sofia Roe initials) onto the base.
