Circles, unlike other geometric shapes, do not have angles which makes circles feel softer than others shapes; and it is believed circles represent unity and protection. Inspired by a fascination with curves, circles and the natural world, this striking bowl was formed using imperfect circles of different sizes.
 
Three diluted coats of Mayco Sea Salt were applied to this piece to produce an almost translucent finish; a sea-washed effect to compliment the sea salt glaze. This glaze has a matt white base and contains a sage green crystal. As the crystal melts, tiny green blooms appear in the glaze, producing a foamy, textured fired finish. Mesmerising!
 
This bowl is perfect for use as a decorative sculpture, and strong enough to be used as a functional container (perhaps a fruit bowl as shown in the images).
